Biography Went to the Liverpool Collegiate School, Shaw Street Liverpool. At the age of 15yrs during the First World War he worked his passage on a steamer out of Liverpool to New York where he worked as a Pawnbroker's Assistant, returning to work in the family business in Liverpool. During the Second World War he served as an ARP Warden in Liverpool and was in the vicinity of Bank Hall Bridge when it took a direct hit from a German raid. He had to jump behind a brick garden wall to save himself. He was subsequently called up for war service with the Royal Artillery and served in North Africa, Sicily and Europe. After the war he returned home to continue working for the family pawnbroking business at 258 Stanley Road Kirkdale .
Marriage married Rhoda Richards Born 24th November 1903. Died 22nd February 1997.
